01 / THE STORYFinished work and billing sit in different stages.
Soderburg Roofing handles roofing and siding jobs in AccuLynx, where a job's stage reflects its place in operations and collections. Seeing which finished roofs were ready to bill is the kind of cross-stage view the team wanted from its XBuild Operator kickoff.
The team came in with a clear standard. The answers had to come from Soderburg's own AccuLynx data, and they had to hold up when the people who run those jobs looked at them.
02 / THE STORYA first test the team could check on sight.
The opening query asked for jobs where the roof was complete but siding work remained. The Operator explained its approach, combining job status with whether siding was on the job, then returned three active jobs and two older siding jobs that had since been canceled.
The team confirmed the list matched reality, down to one job where siding had just been ordered.
03 / THE STORYCompleted roofs, sorted by invoice stage.
Next came the question that matters to the office. Which roofs were completed in the last two weeks, and where does billing stand on each? The Operator grouped the results by invoice stage. Four had been invoiced. Three had no invoice at all. One had an invoice still sitting in draft.
Each result linked back to its project, so anyone reviewing the list could open the job and confirm the status.
04 / THE STORYTurning the list into follow-up.
That short list is immediately useful. It points to the completed jobs that still need an invoice created or finalized, without anyone building a report first.
The team asked whether the Operator could draft payment follow-up emails to those clients, and the XBuild team confirmed it could. Drafts go through the logged-in user's Gmail account and wait for review before anything is sent.
The team also asked about running checks like this automatically on a set day, such as Friday. Scheduled queries were in development at the time of the session and expected shortly after.
